Camp Overview
At Fundamentals First, we believe summer should be fun, fulfilling, and focused on growth. Our 8-week summer camp offers students from Grades 1 to 8 a chance to stay ahead, strengthen their skills, and spark their love for learning. With an engaging mix of math and problem-solving activities, we keep students active, curious, and confident all summer long.
Whether your child needs extra support or wants to get ahead before the school year starts, we’ve got them covered with our hands-on learning approach, personalized instruction, and playful academic challenges.

Statistics show that many students experience a decline in academic performance over the summer — known as Summer Learning Loss — especially in math. But don’t worry — our camp is designed to keep skills sharp and minds engaged, so students return to school in September ready to thrive.
What we Offer
Leadership, Speaking, and Writing Modules
- Leadership Survival: Build teamwork and navigate challenges
- Debate Intensive: Think on your feet and debate like a pro
- Public Speaking: Pitch your business idea with confidence
- Creative Writing: Workshop your stories and ideas
Number Sense, Logic, and Problem Solving Modules
- Number Sense & Place Value: Counting, place value, and number patterns
- Operations & Mental Math: Addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division skills
- Geometry & Measurement: Exploring shapes, area, and real-world measuring
- Data & Problem Solving: Learning to collect, represent, and analyze data logically
Camp Details
- Dates: July – August
- Schedule: Monday to Friday | 2 hour sessions (choose from 4-6 or 6-8)
- Grades: 1–8
- Subjects Covered: Math, Leadership, Reading, and Writing
- Location: Edmonton, Alberta at Fundamentals First
